Hosted Call Center TCN Unveils New Licensing Arrangement for Cloud-based Dialing

TCN, a provider of hosted call center technologies, has released a new Bring Your Own Minutes (BYOM) service that allows clients to continue using the same telco service while on a new hosted dialer service.  Through this concept, in which “clients bring their own minutes,” TCN connects to clients’ telco carriers and charges clients only a small licensing fee for the technology.

“Very large call centers often couldn’t justify relying solely on cloud dialers because they [the call centers] could not leverage their size to get competitive telco rates,” said TCN Vice President of Sales Dave Bethers. “TCN’s BYOM changes all that. The writing is on the wall for premise-based dialers.”

According to TCN, many call centers have been buying premise based dialers and while some lease cloud based dialers. Cloud based dialers, however, may turn more expensive if they incur huge service provider costs. With TCN’s BYOM, call centers get the benefit of cheaper cloud based dialer service as they continue to benefit from their carriers’ cheaper telephony costs. 

In fact, TCN’s own case studies have shown that, after five years, the total average cost of owning and operating a premise-based dialer converges with the total average cost of leasing cloud technology--even with BYOM.  

The purchased dialer will be very obsolete after five years, and it will be a millstone around the neck. Further, the opportunity cost of making a large capital outlay to purchase a premise-based dialer is large.

TCN’s BYOM eliminates the only convincing argument that those clinging to premised-based call center dialers had: cheap telco, the company said.   

In another similar development recently the hosted call center technology provider launched an innovative dialer solution that ensures privacy and legal compliance and also allows clients to pause and interrupt call recording. With this predictive dialer, TCN customers can use a completely on-demand predictive dialer that powers functionality including call monitoring and agent interrupt.
